"Togel Online Togel" by Pasaran Togel is the first book of a series about the adventures of a young woman named Lumpur. Like most stories, it begins with the usual introduction and then quickly goes back to fill in details about her early life in Singapore and her family's background. As the book proceeds it becomes clear that the author was very keen to include some biographical material as well as a romantic element to her story. She tells us about her early love for Singaporean street food and about how this passion blossomed into a book publishing company and then launching a series of children's books in Singapore and Malaysia. This book has many engaging chapters and some very good illustrations, with some depicting authentic scenes from the country and others more cartoon-like.
There are many interesting characters in Togel Online
Togel, including one who sells cookies called "Chinita's cookies" by
her alter ego Chinita. These are rather cute, especially when you read the
biographies about them. Then there is the villainess Vampi, who is the mother
of one of the main characters, Isabella. Vampi also happens to be the sister of
another one of the main characters, Adalah Sebuah. And there is Laksa, a Hindu
girl who becomes fascinated by pengeluaran togel, a Muslim boy who is from Singapore.
The book has many illustrations that help keep the reader
engrossed, and is written in simple, easy to understand English. It's a
pleasure to read because there is so much historical detail. Although Singapore
was once under British rule, it has changed hands many times since. That
creates many sub-cultures, including one in which the British used to rule,
although this one has been embraced by more recent generations.
The story begins with the young child of the protagonist,
Isabella. She moves from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (the former capital city of
Malaysia) with her family when her father is fired from his job as a cook. He
takes Isabella with him as he starts a new life in America, working long hours
as a cook. Isabella develops a liking for the taste of Southern Chinese food,
and for the strange tastes of her homeland.
Isabella's family decides to send her to a
Chinese-language school in Singapore called Bukit Timah which translates to
"Balkit School". This school has a strange mix of Asian and American
cultures, as its students are predominately Chinese. The young woman quickly
becomes fascinated by the strange languages and customs of the Chinese people
and the land of Singapore, especially its people of the Malay type, whom she nicknames
Mung and Teo.
Mung is an exceptional chef and the owner of a very
elegant restaurant called Feng Shui Teow Yai. Teo is the son of a wealthy
landowner. Isabella devotes her studies of Mung and their fascinating culture
to translating their language into English, even though the local Malays are
fluent in English. The results of her efforts to learn their dialect are two
amazing books-one is in English and the other in Chinese-called The Great
Malaysian Book of Cuisine (KLCC), which is like a textbook on the history of
cooking in Malaysia, its cuisines and the food traditions of the people of that
country.
